School Websites

  • Building your new site is incredibly straight-forward and doesn’t need to cause you a lot of upheaval.

    • Initial Meeting: First, I meet with you and your team to get your ideas, look at other school sites that you like and come up with some clear design ideas.

    • Draft Design: Next, I put together a draft Homepage and a couple of other key pages for you to review.

    • Build: Once the design is agree, I commence work creating the pages and copying all your text, images and links to from your old site to your new site.

    • Migration: With the new site signed off, I will work with your existing domain hosts to migrate from your old site to the new one. This typlically involves no more than a few moments of downtime.

    • Website support. Choose from Basic at £150 / year or Advanced from £450 / year.

    • Promo films - from £850

    • Photography for website banners - £550 + VAT

    • Virtual Tours - £450 + VAT (plus a £75 / year hosting fee)

    • New Build: If you need a complete redesign, with lots of new content such as revised text, new links, new images etc.. this is the way to go. I can take 4 or 5 days to build from the ground up but the benefit is that your existing site continues to function until you are happy to make the switch.

    • Refresh: If you are on SquareSpace already and the content on your existing site is 100% up to date, a refresh can save you a lot of money. Choosing this option, I will get some design ideas from you and then update your existing live site in real time. There will be no changes to images, text or links - just the fonts, colours and general styling. This can take 2 days to complete.

Completely New Build: £1,450 + VAT

Refresh Existing Site: £750 + VAT

School Photography

  • Typically, I can cover an entire primary school in just a half day on-site. During this time, you simply design a timetable of activities to reflect all the areas you want to showcase. Some of these can be stages with just a member of staff and a few children, just for a few minutes to get the right shots. Within 24 hours of the shoot, you will have all your photos edited and shared with you ready for use.

  • Ahead of the photography, please ask your staff to make me aware of any children who cannot be featured. Ideally, if they can be moved to the side of the room or engaged with another activity, that makes everything more efficient and we will get through more in the allotted time. All content is shared with you for review so there is no need to panic that someone without permission may have been in shot.

  • Staff Headshots can be for your website or their ID badges. Usually, I will be booked for an hour over a lunch time - this means that midday supervisors can also be photographed during the visit. If you need more than one visit, that’s fine, it will just incur an additional cost.

    Staff headshots for websites can have backgrounds added and for ID badges backgrounds can be removed. This is included in the cost, just specify at the time of booking.

School Promo Films

  • When creating your promo film, it is important that you plan the activities and locations ahead of time:

    • Brightly lit spaces, ideally with good natural lighting will project the best imagery

    • Sunny days! I always plan a failover date when booking shoots - if the weather is looking like being terrible, it is best to postpone as you won’t want the school to be shown in grey, miserable conditions!

    • Timetable activities. think of all the things (people, kit, locations, outside space, subjects etc..) you want to feature and plan these to be available during the filming visit. It only needs a few minutes to stage the shots, no need to plan entire lessons.

    • Following filming, I aim to get a first draft to you for review within 2 working days.

    • Half a day of filming

    • All editing and exporting ready for Youtube or Vimeo etc. (4K unless otherwise requested)

    • Review and re-edit process

    • Music and licensing

    • Sound effects and licensing

    • Animated text captions

    • Social edits can be produced for a small additional cost

  • As you will see from the examples above, some films are set to music while others have staff or children speaking. It entirely depends on what your preference is. Anything requiring audio recording will cost a little more as it takes more editing time.

Montage: £850 + VAT

School Virtual Tours

  • Most primary schools can be scanned in just half a day on site. This is usually done at the weekend or in the holidays as it needs there to be no people in shot. To prepare for the scanning, you should take time to ensure all rooms are clean and tidy and presented as you want them to appear. Have windows cleaned, bins emptied, lights fixed and paintwork touched-up. The camera will see everything in as much detail as you can when you walk around, so carry out a walkabout in advance and think about what you may wish to hide or fix!

    Following scanning, you will receive your tour links within 2 working days (often much sooner!)

  • You will receive a direct link for your tour, which is good for sharing the tour directly with others, putting in a social media post or using as a hyper link. You will also receive an embed code, which will be the best way for you to add the tour to your website. You can also request a 3D overview of your school if you find this useful. Statistics on tour visits are available upon request as well.

The Wirral is an extremely competitive area when it comes to school places and digital marketing is a key leveraging factor that schools use to ensure they give prospective parents a feel for their values and ethos.

However, Overchurch Junior School approached us with the aim of collaborating on a series of films which would all feature voiceovers recorded by the school council. After 2 days of filming and lot of editing, we arrived at 4 films - one general promo, one to showcase the school’s wellbeing support, a third talking about the varied curriculum and finally, an explanation of how much emphasis the staff place on the personal development of all their children.
